Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

A canvas for dreams.

to imagine.

to inspire.

There was a terrible ferry crash in Hong Kong on Monday. My parents have to take the ferry back and forth the city almost everyday. I was pretty sure they were okay because it wasn’t their ferry that was reported in the news. But I got worried when I couldn’t reach them by phone! I whatsapp-messaged them and finally got a response back!
What was scary and amazing at the same time is that they really were almost going to be on that ferry! Because it was a holiday in Hong Kong, lots of people travel to these islands to relax for the day. My mom apparently suggested to my dad that they should go to Lamma Island (which will require them to take the ferry that crashed) and my dad agreed it was a good idea because they can watch the fireworks from the ferry! But for some reason, they never carried out the plan.. so they didn’t board that ferry!
Praise God! Words cannot even express how thankful I am that my parents are alive & well. I can’t even imagine.. I don’t even want to imagine if they died in the crash. It’s really sad that 38 people drowned in the crash. We can’t take everything for granted. We need to love & cherish those around us because the truth is… we never know what will happen. We can only trust & believe in the One who saves.

ZEPHANIAH 3:17

17 The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

This is what it feels like to seek the Lord first..
This is what it tastes like to make Him centre..
This is what I want. This is all I want.

May the overflow of joy in our hearts bless the Lord and all those we minister to
and spill over in all the things the Lord set us out to accomplish in His name & Kingdom sake,
this day, till the day we meet Him face to face.
Amen.

too good to be true?

The Lord is so good to me.
It feels almost too good to be true.
He really does want the best for me.
Lord, I want to give you my heart and all of me.
Because You alone are worthy.

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus14:14

I'm learning to be patient. The best things in life are worth waiting for. :)

You inspire songs of praise.

He truly is an inspiring God. He has allowed me to express my most intimate cries to the Lord and praises to the King. No words can express how amazing it feels to see these thoughts come to life. I will never forget the moment I hear it come to life. [june 19th 12:20am]

Jesus loves me this I know... :)

The minute I decide to surrender everything to Him.... He replies with this song:
The name "Amanda" also means "Beloved" :)

You're my beloved, you're my bride
To sing over you is my delight
Come away with me my love

Under my mercy come and wait
Till we are standing face to face
I see no stain on you my child

You're beautiful to me
So beautiful to me

I sing over you my song of peace
Cast all your care down at my feet
Come and find your rest in me

I'll breathe my life inside of you
I'll bear you up on eagle's wings
And hide you in the shadow of my strength

I'll take you to my quiet waters
I'll restore your soul
Come rest in me and be made whole

You're my beloved, you're my bride
To sing over you is my delight
Come away with me my love

Oh, and I love how the two new songs I chose have NYC in their music video ;)
Please pray that I can love this city.

它是【Blue like Jazz】。
I'm going to share in english for my friends who don't read chinese.

In the chapter Belief, Donald Miller talked about something that really made me think and reflect about my own beliefs.

"One morning I was sitting at the counter in the kitchen talking to Rachael about love and marriage, and she was gleaming about her hustband a little, and I told her in one of those rare moments of vulnerability that I was scared to get married because I thought my wife might fall out of love with me, suddenly, after seeing a movie or reading a book or seeing me naked. You never know what might trigger these things. Rachael looked at me through the steam that was coming off her coffee and said, very wisely and comfortingly, that when a relationship is right, it is no more possible to wake up and want out of the marriage than it is to wake up and stop believing in God. What is, is what is, she said."

This experience helped the author realize "that believing in God is as much like falling in love as it is like making a decision. Love is both something that happens to you and something you decide upon."

Donald Miller was not trying to talk about love, but rather, he was more interested in why we believe in God. He noticed that we often like pop-culture icons not because they share our beliefs, but simply because they are cool. "The undercurrent running through culture is not giving people value based upon what they believe and what they are doing to aid society, the undercurrent is deciding their value based upon whether or not they are cool."
He pointed out that we don't believe things because we believe them anymore. We only believe things because they are cool. The problem is "the belief that there is a God and a devil and a heaven and a hell is not a fashionable thing to believe."

I think this is a great topic to reflect on. What do I believe? Why do I believe it? Are we only doing things and associating ourselves with things that are considered cool?

Money cannot buy this type of friendship.
Distance cannot stop this type of friendship.
God cannot cease to bless this type of friendship.

Isn't that the cutest picture ever? :P

Break my heart for what breaks yours, Lord. Help me see what you see.
